No. 8 oz is roughly a third of the intended volume and the drink will taste very salty and very tart at that concentration. Each stick carries a 3,520mg electrolyte complex, including 1,100mg of sodium, which is calibrated for 16 to 32 oz of water.
Add more water. Almost every report of an overly salty or sharp taste comes from mixing into too little water. At 24 to 32 oz per stick the salt reads as balanced rather than sharp. More water just means more hydration, so you cannot overdo it.
